ADEQUATE FACILITIES TAX INFORMATION

The Adequate facilities Privilege Tax was adopted  June 17, 1991 and in two weeks the rate was set back to $.0.00.  January 19, 1999, the rate was set at $.50 per square foot for residential and $.30 per square foot for non-residential.

The tax is to be paid before a Building Permit can be issued.  If a Building Permit is not required, the tax still has to be paid on all non-residential items.

The Adequate Facilities Privilege Tax is paid in the Maury County Building and Zoning Office located at the Walter Harlan Building #5.

Please bring one set of building plans into the office with you.

The Adequate Facilities Tax Board members are: Beverly Rayburn, Jim Rogers and Norman Dean.

For any additional information please call 375-3001.

The Building Permit Fee and Adequate Facilities Tax will need to be paid with separate checks.
