The Register of Deeds office is a constitutional office under State of Tennessee law and is regulated by state statutes. The mission of the Register of Deeds office is to: (1) record legal documents that protect the rights of the public citizens, especially those rights that pertain to real estate, (2) archive and house such records for eternity, and (3) make such records accessible to the public for viewing and printing.
