Department Description:

Our responsibility to the 70,000 Citizens of Maury County is to enable a pleasant and above all, a safe way to travel on the 816.79 miles of roads and 804 bridges. Maintaining not only the roads and bridge, the Department, is responsible for the up keep of the road’s right of ways. Our Department consists of 56 versatile employees.  With out a safe and passable way to travel all other Governmental Departments in Maury County will suffer. Better road system can only increase the value of property in Maury County. Citizens are proud and have every right to be of their personal assets and their families. Our Department understands the complaints called in concerning damages to vehicles, land, residence and safety to family members due to poor road conditions and drainage problem, our Department is here to alleviate their concern. The County now consists of 271.13 miles of asphalt roads, 389.52 miles of oil & chip roads and 156. 14 miles of gravel or can be referred to as a chert road.
