Text Box: The Sheriff’s Department Corrections Unit is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for all of the individuals that are housed in the Maury County Jail. The personnel that comprise the staff of the Corrections Unit are highly trained, professional, men and women that are dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure environment at the jail.
Corrections Personnel are assigned to one of 4 corrections shifts.  Each shift is led by a Shift Sergeant who reports to the Lieutenant.  The Lieutenant is the Jail Administrator and is responsible for the 46 Corrections Officers, the inmates, and overseeing the daily operation of the jail as a whole.
In addition to the corrections officers, the jail has support staff that enable it to perform to the high standards demanded by state certification.  The Support Staff consists of two Nurses, a Mental Health Liaison, 3 Chaplains, Maintenance, 3 Cooks and several other personnel that ensure that the jail functions properly.
