Text Box: The S.W.A.T. bus is dispatched to any  call that the team receives.  It is equipped with lights, sirens, radio and other emergency equipment.  Additionally, the S.W.A.T. bus carries special tools used exclusively by S.W.A.T. members for use under special circumstances.
Text Box: These specially designed bikes are manufactured by Smith & Wesson specifically for Law Enforcement.  The Department currently has two of these bikes for use at special events, parades, neighborhood patrol and to teach children about bicycle safety.  Our initial team consisted of Sgt. Kirk Shepard and Deputy Mike Cook.  We have been fortunate to add an additional team member with Deputy Ray McCluggage coming on board.
Text Box: The latest addition to the Sheriff's Department fleet is pictured here.  This Suburban with over $ 15,000 worth of stereo equipment, was confiscated from an area drug dealer.  For his criminal activity, the drug dealer was sentenced to 15 years in prison.  Local businesses assisted in converting this vehicle into a D.A.R.E. vehicle for the SRO Unit.  The department would like to thank Buzz's Body Shop, Auto Trim Design, Federal Signal Inc., and Maury County Central Maintenance for their assistance with this project.
Text Box: The Emergency Support Vehicle is a great example of cohesiveness between the Emergency Services agencies within Maury County.  The equipment that is carries was purchased by a combination of local, state and federal funds. This vehicle can be dispatched by our agency or at the request of other agencies through the Maury County Office of Emergency Management.
 
Text Box: In addition to the "marked" vehicle above, the Department also has several "unmarked" Police Interceptors.  These vehicles are equipped with interior lights as opposed to the light bar that sits atop our standard patrol vehicles.  These "unmarked" cars are currently utilized by the Department's CID unit.
Text Box: The Department currently has two Dodge Stratus vehicles, such as this one pictured here, that are currently deployed on special assignment.
Text Box: This is the primary vehicle used by the Department for inmate transport.  This van is specially equipped with secure compartments to separate inmates while being transported.  The vehicle also has a sophisticated camera system that gives officers the ability to monitor the inmates while transporting.
Text Box: The Department's Hummer is a special D.A.R.E. vehicle.  It is used by the SRO Unit to visit schools for special functions and is also used at many special events around the county.

Text Box: The Ford Explorer is an extremely versatile vehicle for law enforcement activities.  The department received 14 of these vehicles for use by investigators, K-9 officers, and support services.
