Any visitor with an approved application on file may make an appointment with the reception office before the desired date of visitation.

Inmates are allowed one visitation per week for one (1) hour.  This does not mean for each visitor so be sure to consult other family members as to when they plan to visit.

The limit of visitors per appointment is three (3).  Therefore, if you plan on making an appointment for more than one (1) person, you must include the person’s name at the time of scheduling the appointment.  NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO VISIT WITHOUT AN APPROVED APPLICATION ON FILE.

Visitation appointments are only taken for the following week.  Appointments can not be scheduled beyond the following week.

Visitation appointments are based on a first call first served basis.  If you are unable to make your scheduled appointment, call ahead to notify the reception office or your appointment will be canceled for that week.

NOTE:  VISITATION IS NOT OPEN TO ANYONE CONVICTED OF A FELONY CHARGE OR ANYONE WHO HAS A RECORD IN MAURY COUNTY.

While visiting inmates at this facility, we provide a seat for visitors while visiting their loved ones.  Visitors are not to sit on the tables in the visitation area.  If you are caught by a Correctional Officer, sitting on the table, you may be asked to leave.

ZERO TOLERANCE DRUG POLICY:

It is the policy of the Maury County Sheriff’s Department that any person found in the possession of an illegal substance while on the Department’s premises shall be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.  This shall include federal laws governing the introduction of contraband into a penal facility.  In addition to this, any person incarcerated within the Detention Center during such a discovery shall forfeit visitation considerations for a period of 180 days (six months).

LANGUAGE AND CONDUCT LIMITATIONS:

Due to the fact that children and respectful members of society are the ones that participate in our visitation program, language and conduct does have a limit.  We will not tolerate visitors disrespecting other visitors, family members, staff or persons that are incarcerated.  Everyone deserves common respect.  If you are in violation of this, you will lose visitation privileges for 2 weeks.

STAFF AND VISITOR INTERACTION:

Staff members are expected to conduct themselves as professionals and visitors are expected to treat staff with common respect.  If you feel that a staff member treated you unfairly you may file an official complaint with the department.  Each compliant will be investigated fully and no complaint will be taken lightly.  We will not tolerate verbal abuse of any staff member for what you feel may be unfair treatment.  We will maintain order in our visitation booths and lobby area.  If for any reason, a visitor disrupts our visitation program or disrespects any staff member, he/she will be instructed to leave immediately and your application will be reviewed for possible suspension or termination of all visits in the future.  Failure to leave the premises when instructed may result in the visitor being arrested for disorderly conduct or charges related to the visitor’s actions.

FALSIFYING INFORMATION:

All visitors must complete an official visitation application before any visitation consideration is approved.  All information listed on the application is subject to verification.  Any person that provides false information or deliberately attempts to mislead staff shall be denied visitation consideration for a period of 365 days (one year).  Any person that is incarcerated within the facility that provides false information on an internal visitation application shall forfeit all visitation considerations for the period of not less than 30 days (one month).  Honesty is a requirement and will prove to be the best policy.
