This office serves as Clerk of the Maury County Legislative Body, recording minutes of Commission meetings and maintaining files for resolutions.
This department issues titles and license plates for all motorized vehicles and collects wheel tax for Maury County residents. As appropriate, sales tax is collected for all individual sales of vehicles and boats. License plate renewals are processed by this office.
In addition, applications for Notary Public are processed and documents are notarized for the public.
Marriage licenses are issued and copies of marriage records are maintained by the County Clerk’s office.
The business tax section issues business licenses as required by the Business Tax Act of the Tennessee Department of Revenue. This section also issues beer permits, pawn broker licenses and title pledge licenses.
Alarm permits for businesses and private residences are also issued for buildings located in the county but outside of the city limits.

Monday - Friday
Business License 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Marriage License 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All other transactions
7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
We close at 4 p.m. the 1st Friday of every month.
We also close on all State of TN holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents' Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and New Year's Eve.
