Maury County Park (MCP) is a 242-acre park located in the heart of Columbia, Tennessee. The park contains a multitude of amenities to serve the surrounding population, as well as space to hold annual festivals like Mule Day and the Maury County Fair. The park boasts a 1-mile nature trail that features a Storybook Trail and outdoor classroom, 2-mile paved trail, an ADA accessible trail (“Tony’s Trail”), three playgrounds, eight pavilions, a gazebo, two buildings (Baker Building and Exhibit Building) and restrooms. The park hosts the Lindsey Nelson Football Stadium, Columbia American Little League Field, and a Multi-Use Field as well as an extensive equestrian area with two arenas, stall barns, and the Skillington Livestock Barn. Opened in partnership with the City of Columbia Parks & Recreation, Maury County Park is home to the city’s first ever dog park – The Muletown Bark Park. The park is also home to one of the nation’s largest miniature train tracks, operated by the Mid-South Live Steamers, which hosts several events annually, offering rides to the public. The Maury County Senior Center and the Maury County Parks and Recreation Office are located within Maury County Park.
Maury County Park has benefited from partnerships with local organizations that provide a mix of recreational opportunities including Columbia American Little League, Maury County Bridle and Saddle Club, Maury County Fair and Expo, Mid-South Live Steamers, local civic clubs, and Maury County Senior Citizens.
